What We Believe
Verbal Inspiration of Scriptures
We believe in the infallible, inspired, and preserved Word of God. God used men to bring forth the Textus Receptus as the foundation for the 1611 King James Bible, the one true Word of God. We believe that God inspired human authors to write and preserve the old and new testaments and that The Holy Scripture is the final authority in every aspect of faith and practice. (II Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:89; II Peter 1:20,21)
Creation
We believe in the account of creation from the book of Genesis. That God created all that there is in six literal days, using only the words from His mouth, and then rested on the 7th. He created Adam from the dust of the earth in His own image. Later God created Eve from Adam’s rib, to be his helpmeet, and that through them, mankind was brought forth. (Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:16-17; Job 26:7; Psalm 33:6,9; John 1:3)
The Trinity
We believe that there is only ONE God, but in the unity of the Godhead there are three eternal and equal parts: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. All three make up the Godhead, all with the same Omnipotence, Omniscience, and Omnipresence, and all with the same characteristics and desires. (Hebrews 1:8; Acts 5:1-3; Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 8:6; Colossians 2:9; Matthew 3:16,17)
The Son of God
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He is the only begotten Son of God and is born of God and man. (Luke 1:30-35; John 1:1-15; Philippians 2:5-8; Colossians 1:15)
The Doctrine of Sin
God created man, but through mans own fault, man fell into sin. Bringing both physical and spiritual death-separation from God. Due to this sin, mankind has inherited a sinful nature. Mankind has become exceedingly sinful in thought, word, and actions. (Genesis 1:26,27; 2:16,17; 3:16-19; Romans 3:10-23; 6:23)
The Blood Atonement
Jesus Christ died on the cross to save everyone from the sin-debt that we owe. He arose from the dead on the third day, thus conquering death. He ascended in Heaven where He is seated at the right hand of God the Father as the Head of the church and making intercession for the saints as our High Priest. (Luke 24; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 5:8-10; Ephesians 1:20-23; I Peter 3:18)
Salvation
Man is lost and must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God. Salvation is by grace alone through personal faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. (John 1:12; 3:3-7; Ephesians 2:8,9)
The Second Coming
The Lord Jesus Christ Himself is coming again at any moment. When He does, all those who have received Him as their personal Saviour will be taken to Heaven in the twinkling of an eye. The unbelievers left behind will go through a seven-year period called the Tribulation. After this Christ will visibly return to begin His one-thousand-year reign. After this time, He will judge all unbelievers at the Great White Throne Judgment, where the unbelievers will be judged and sentenced to the Lake of Fire, forever separated from God. The believers will spend eternity in Heaven with God Himself. (Matthew 24:29-42; I Thessalonians 4:16-18; Revelation 19:11 - 20:15)
Separation from the World
We believe that those saved are called to a life of separation from the world and its sinful practices. Once someone has accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour, they are a new creature and should live a holy and consecrated life. They should separate themselves from the world and all its lusts in obedience to the command of God. (Romans 12:1-2; I John 2:15-17; II Corinthians 5:17; 6:14-18; I Peter 2:9; II Timothy 2:19)
The Local Church
We believe that a Scriptural local church is an assembly of baptized (immersed) believer congregated together for the purpose of carrying out the Great Commission. The local church is lead by the Pastor under the guidance of the Hand of God. The Church is a self-governed independent body, with Christ as the Head, the Holy Spirit as its Guide, and the Bible as the only rule of faith and practice. There are only two offices of the church, the bishop (Pastor) and deacons and there are two ordinances given to the local church are Baptism and Lord’s Supper. On all matters of membership, of policy, of government, of discipline, of benevolence, etc. the will of the local church is final. (Mk. 16:15; Eph. 1:22-23; 3:21; I Tim. 3)
